Even with the bounce of the bullet, Tennessee got his prey. He rode a horse named Smoky and packed two sixguns, and his show was scored by harmonica-accordian themes that suggested a Deep South origin. But Tennessee was cut from Lone Ranger cloth: no hillbilly slang for him; it was all proper diction and a good example for the kids.

As the series went on, Tennessee became an agent for the White House, working directly for President Grant to round up evidence. _{John Dunning}
