Western singer Carson Robison first took to the airwaves with his Buckaroos program in 1932 over the NBC Red network sponsored by Barbasol Shaving Cream. The following year the show was moved to NBC's Blue network.

Also in 1933, another Robison series titled Bar X Days and Nights premiered over the NBC Blue network for White's Cod Liver Oil and Feenamint Laxative. That series moved to the CBS network in 1934 and added a western drama segment to the music and song.

During the 1937-38 season they were on the air over the Mutual network for Musterole with a fifteen minute program broadcast three times weekly.

On October 13, 1939 Musterole returned to sponsor Carson Robison and His Buckaroos (Bill, John, and Pearl Mitchell) with a weekly half hour program. Jack Costello was the announcer.

During the mid-1940s The NBC Radio Recording Division syndicated over one-hundred quarter hour transcribed Robison shows.
