United States Army recruiting presented a thirty minute musical series titled Sound Off. It took to the airwaves over the CBS network on July 4, 1946.

Mark Warnow's orchestra held center stage, with vocals by songstress Evelyn Knight and Lyn Murray's chorus.

After a summer on CBS, Sound Off moved into the fall schedule of the Mutual network.

Later talent on the program included: vocalists Glenn Darwin, Arno Tanney, and weekly guests.

The series bounced around the network's schedule, finally ending up on the ABC network before leaving the air in 1948. The announcers were Hugh Brundage, George Fenneman, and Bert Parks.
