A Saturday morning of western music hosted by Andy Devine was the format for the Melody Roundup show. The series replaced Hook 'n' Ladder Follies on May 6, 1944, sponsored by The Goodyear Rubber Company.

The eight to ten songs crammed into the thirty minutes were performed by The Range Singers, The Song Spinners, and The Sons of the Pioneers. Accompaniment was provided by Perry Botkin's orchestra. Jim Doyle was the announcer.

The end of the trail came for Melody Roundup after the broadcast of November 11, 1944.
