California Melodies aired as a sustaining feature of the CBS network from 1932 until 1936. Musical talents heard on the show included The Boswell Sisters, Nadine Connor, Sam Coslow, Ray Hendricks, Nora Schiller, The Stafford Sisters (Jo, Chris-tine, and Pauline), and Hazel Waters. The orchestra was under the baton of David Broekman and Raymond Paige, the announcers were Bill Goodwin and Ken Niles. Between musical selections, newspaper reporter Eleanor Barnes interviewed motion picture stars.
The series was revived in 1940, featuring the orchestra of David Rose, and later Harry Zimmerman. The vocals were sung by Wendell Noble.
