Nick Carter was a pulp magazine story of the air. During the early days it was broadcast as The Return of Nick Carter, an acknowlegement of the hero's origins in the 1886 pages of Street and Smith weekly. The stories were in the classic tradition, the murderer revealed only after all the clues had been gathered and deciphered by Nick.
