Dick Tracy proved almost as durable on the air as he was in the comics. The serial came with the full gallery of Chester Gould strip characters: sidekick Pat Patton, Tracy's adopted son Junior; his girlfriend Tess Truehart; Vitamin Flintheart and the villain, Flattop. The opening signature of the '40s would be fondly remembered by those who heard it as children: a furious burst of radio codes and Tracy's terse, voice filtered commands (via wrist radio, of course)._{John Dunning}
