The Clock was a great mystery-suspense show of the late 1940s. It was an Australian series produced by Grace Gibson which was imported and aired intact over the ABC network for some 15 months. The settings were generic and the actors and actresses spoke without a perceptible accent and for that reason the program sounded "American".
