The Joan Davis Show
Volume Number: 1

Episode Count: 9

Catalog # C-JDAV-1

Joan Davis and her husband, Si Willis, caught the final days of vaudeville in the 1930s and arrived on radio in 1941. An appearance on the Rudy Vallee Show Aug. 28, 1941, led to a regular role with Vallee beginning in November. She played a crazy and man-crazed female whose aim in life was to capture Vallee's heart. This, coupled with her voice -- a squeaky trill of sharply rising inflections -- set her apart and drew much favorable notice. John Dunning
